2029 Forwards Who Looked Poised For Bigger Roles

The class of 2029 is filled with prospects who may take their games to the next level. In this article, I feature five forwards who could see their roles expand in the coming months.    Tyson Phoenix spent the summer playing up with the Prominence 16U squad. He may become a bit more of a household name this upcoming season, as he is a very solid athlete. Defensively, he isn't the easiest guy to score on thanks to his length and vertical, and he gets it done on offense by making strong slashes to the rack or spotting up and shooting. Considering the impact he can make on both ends of the court, I anticipate that he will either start or he'll be one of the first guys off the bench.     Santino Randelman (pictured) is a very intriguing prospect with a good blend of size, athleticism, and strength. He can leverage his frame against shorter players who are matched up with him, and he is consistently a threat to score inside or hammer home a dunk. Randelman's 6'7 stature is a big-time asset on defense too, and he may be a guy who comes off the bench for the Gales to provide some additional height when they go against teams with multiple forwards. With all that said, he could take the next step sooner rather than later.     [player_tooltip player_id='3576687' first='Dylan' last='Swinn'] is a guy who I think will see a good amount of minutes as he moves up to varsity for the Faith Lutheran Crusaders. He is a dynamic SF who consistently brings intensity and competitiveness to the table. I believe he will be a notable contributor in the rebounding department, and he should be able to score some easy buckets right underneath the cup too. We may also see him expand his game as he gains more experience at the varsity level.     [player_tooltip player_id='2919429' first='Braylon' last='Radford'] is now running with the Pinecrest Sloan Canyon. He will look to be a bit of an enforcer for them, much like he is as an aggressive running back on the football field, and I think those skills will translate to production for the Pirates on the court. He isn't easy to contain, and he can ward off defenders who try to slow him down. Defensively, he utilizes his power and physicality to alter shots, make deflections, and help cause turnovers. Overall, he gives them a good boost of athleticism on the court.     [player_tooltip player_id='3576778' first='Cameron' last='Johnson'] may have more responsibility on his plate for the Civica Academy Wolves this year. He is one of their forwards who gives them some size and can help them out in the paint. On offense, he is a good drop-off option, and he can gain inside position when he's fed the rock on the block. He also figures to pitch in on defense by helping protect the rim and snagging rebounds. Time will tell, but his production certainly has a chance to increase.
