Tyson Phoenix spent the summer playing up with the Prominence 16U squad. He may become a bit more of a household name this upcoming season, as he is a very solid athlete. Defensively, he isn’t the easiest guy to score on thanks to his length and vertical, and he gets it done on offense by making strong slashes to the rack or spotting up and shooting. Considering the impact he can make on both ends of the court, I anticipate that he will either start or he’ll be one of the first guys off the bench.

Tysen is an improved ball-handler and shooter, growth that’s opened the door for him to play on the wing even more. He can knock down threes off the catch and is an exceptional rebounder for his position, making his presence felt even when his shot isn’t falling. His fundamentals show up at the basket too, keeping the ball high and finishing through contact. He plays with great IQ, keeping the ball moving instead of forcing plays that aren’t there, which makes him an easy fit alongside anybody.

Tysen Phoenix Tysen Phoenix 6'1" | CG/SF Palo Verde | 2029 State NV is now at #14. He is a versatile prospect who will do whatever his team needs him to do. On offense, he can get a bucket, dish out dimes, or set screens. On defense, he uses his IQ and wingspan to contain his matchup and alter shots. With plenty of time to keep expanding his game, he projects to be a real problem for opponents for years to come.

Tysen Phoenix Tysen Phoenix 6'1" | CG/SF Palo Verde | 2029 State NV notably plays up for AAU, rolling with Prominent Elite’s 16U squad. Although he’s one of the younger guys (if not the youngest) out there, he makes his presence felt. Skying for rebounds and protecting the rim with his wingspan and vertical. Phoenix is a threat to score as well and can get it done inside or from the perimeter.

Tysen Phoenix Tysen Phoenix 6'1" | CG/SF Palo Verde | 2029 State NV is now inside the top 10. He is a dynamic prospect thanks to his craftiness, burst, and instincts. With his patience and poise, he can maneuver around defenders at the rim and will tip in misses as well. He also has a jump shot in his bag, so you have to respect his scoring prowess anytime he has the ball. Phoenix makes his presence felt on defense too and can cover shifty guards with his active hands and speed. Considering his upside, he looks due for a big spring and summer with Prominent Elite’s 16U.

Tysen Phoenix Tysen Phoenix 6'1" | CG/SF Palo Verde | 2029 State NV has a 75 inch wingspan and stands at about 6’1 (w/o shoes). Considering that he’s just a freshman, he may still be growing. And there’s chance that he ends up having an even bigger wingspan than his brother (Tavien).
