Slept On Prospects: Small Forwards

It is imperative to understand that the talent pool in Nevada is deeper than some think. This article will help shed light to that fact with these names who may not be the "top" ranked prospects within their classes, but still to make an impact when they step on the floor.

Wes is a sharpshooter with the ability to operate an offense and keep his teammates involved, running things with poise. He plays within the flow of the game, letting his shots find him naturally instead of forcing the issue, which makes him tough to gameplan for. His strong body helps him hold up guarding in the post, while his quick feet let him stay in front of guards on the perimeter, giving him real defensive versatility. He's one of the most slept-on players in the state, and it likely won't stay that way for long.

[player_tooltip player_id='3140710' first='Aliyohn' last='Jackson'] is a 6'4" three-level scorer who loves to get to his midrange or his floater for his buckets, living in that in-between space where few defenders can slow him down. When he gets going, he has the ability to heat up and score in bunches, turning a quiet stretch into a run in a hurry. He's a strong defender who never backs down, and his IQ shows up on that end too, helping his team get stops whenever he's on the ball.

Tysen is an improved ball-handler and shooter, growth that's opened the door for him to play on the wing even more. He can knock down threes off the catch and is an exceptional rebounder for his position, making his presence felt even when his shot isn't falling. His fundamentals show up at the basket too, keeping the ball high and finishing through contact. He plays with great IQ, keeping the ball moving instead of forcing plays that aren't there, which makes him an easy fit alongside anybody.

Mason is a microwave scorer with the ability to heat up at any point in a game, capable of putting together a scoring run out of nowhere. [player_tooltip player_id='3558125' first='Ridge' last='Tandy'] is the ultimate hustle player with a knockdown shot to go with it. He goes after every rebound and every loose ball, and he hounds ball-handlers relentlessly, making it clear he'll outwork anyone on the floor. That effort never comes at the expense of his shot either — when he's open, he knocks it down.

Zehlik is a sniper with good length that he puts to use defending all five positions, backed by underrated quick feet and underrated strength that let him hold his own against bigger and smaller matchups alike.
