Staton is another intriguing prospect that got a lot of praise on the PRO 16 Cuircuit and was a late addition to Utah Prep but non-the-less he is a 7-1 C that is mobile and he can erase shots. Reminds you of those old school 90’s centers that could move and protect the rim. He should get run as a freshman on a loaded roster but should be interesting to see how he develops as a NBA prospect.

is the reigning Gatorade Player Of The Year here in Nevada. He has been the team leader Sierra Vista on defense, and their current record in 9-3. At the moment he is swatting 1.5 shots per game, but what the stats don’t show is how many shots he is disrupting. On the offensive end, he is averaging 7.2 PPG and he’s doing a pretty decent job of cleaning the glass. Racking up 7.6 rebounds per game.

The decision has been made! The #1 recruit in the state of Nevada has commitment to BYU. Staton was also looking at Michigan, UNLV, and Stanford. If he can continue on his current trajectory, I believe he’ll be ready to play as a freshman. Staton looks to finish his high school basketball career with back to back 4A state titles.

is a brick wall around the rim. His defense is as good as it gets and helps his Sierra Vista squad tremendously. In The Border League, I saw him doing some scoring as well. Staton has some good touch in the paint, and also gets to the line.

Staton’s shot-blocking ability is game changing for his Sierra Vista squad. Although his team didn’t get the win against Bishop O’Connell or Redemption Christian Academy, his efforts helped keep the game close. I also liked how rebounded the ball, and he made some nice looking shots at The Border League tournament as well. Staton is just over a week away from choosing between Stanford, BYU, Michigan, and UNLV.

‘s rebounding and presence in the paint helped keep his Blue Hoops squad in it against Redemption Christian Academy. I liked how he competed against their bigs, and of course he had some bocks as well. Xavion also grabbed the rebound and tipped in what would have been the game winning shot, but one of the RCA guards came down in the closing seconds and banked in a 3 for the win.

Staton held his own personal block party against Bishop O’Connell. The 7’0 center was swatting every shot that came near the basket and he finished with 10 blocks total. Staton also put up 10 points and 8 rebounds, making him just 2 rebounds short of a triple double. It was an entertaining performance and he proved why he’s one of the best rim protectors in the country.

has good mobility and excels as a rim runner, making him a valuable asset in transition. His tremendous length and shot-blocking timing make him a formidable presence defensively, while his strong rebounding motor ensures he contributes on the glass. Additionally, he is decently efficient around the basket, providing consistent scoring opportunities.
