On offense, he knives through the defense and drop in jumpers, floaters, and lay-ups. Or he will dish the ball to a teammate on the block or in the corner. On defense, he won’t give his man much breathing room and he often pokes the ball away when it’s not being protected.

The senior point guard did what it took to deliver Bishop Gorman their second straight state title. On offense, he was scoring by driving to the basket and he also hit a 3-pointer. On defense, he was using his athleticism to make deflections and pressuring the Mojave guards. All in all, Jefferson had a great season for the Gaels.

Jefferson took care of the rock and facilitated a good amount of Bishop Gorman’s offense in the state semifinals. He was driving hard to the basket and was able to hit a few tough shots. I also noticed Jefferson looking for his teammates. He dished out a staggering 10 assists over the course of the night.

The Bishop Gorman point guard facilitated offense by utilizing his speed to create separation from his defender. From there he used his court vision to find his teammates, and he also got some open looks for himself. Two of his baskets came off of really nice floaters. He started to get to his spots and his offensive output also helped the Gaels build a bigger lead. In the second half, Jefferson continued to get downhill on his drives and ended up making a few trips to the free throw line. All in all, it was a fantastic effort from the senior who handled the rowdy environment well.

The Bishop Gorman point guard looked hungry for on Saturday night. He was in attack mode most of the game, and used his speed to set up his shots. I also noticed him playing with a good deal of intensity on defense. Unfortunately his efforts weren’t enough to stave off Coronado’s come from behind win.

Their biggest win was likely their game against St. Vincent – St. Mary back at the Nike Chosen 1’s event. When I’ve watched Jefferson play, I’ve noticed that he is almost always pushing the pace. Which has kept opponents on their heels, and also led to some nice assists for Jefferson. Including some alley-oops to Chris Baudreau and Terry McKinney III Terry McKinney III 6'6" | SF Millennium | 2028 State #89 Nation AZ . He was also named to the Tarkanian Classic All-Tournament team last week.

Nick Jefferson Nick Jefferson 6'2" | PG Bishop Gorman | 2025 State #324 Nation NV showcased his floor general skillset against Westchester on Wednesday night. He played fast, but pretty under control and facilitated much of Bishop Gorman’s offense. Jefferson was also splashing some NBA range 3’s. The senior point guard finished with 20 points and was the Gaels leading scorer. Bishop Gorman also got the win, 72-60.

The veteran and leader of the Gaels is hungry for another state championship. He has true floor general traits, and gets it done on both ends of the court. With all of the scoring options Bishop Gorman has, he should be able to rack up a ton of assists this year. On defense, Jefferson comes up with a lot of steals, and can really push transition thanks to his ability to accelerate. If he can put together another stellar season, he may be in contention for Gatorade Player of The Year. Look for him to also be one of Nevada’s next Division I commits.
