Phillips displayed a knack for scoring at all levels. He creates his own shot, stays on balance as a catch-and-shoot threat and attacks closeouts to get into his mid-range game with floaters and pull-ups. He’s a straight-line, north-and-south player who doesn’t over dribble, making him an efficient scorer. Phillips was a key piece in Jesuit’s Division II State Championship run and looks ready to build on that momentum.

He’s a growing body with long arms, and improved ball handling, using crossovers, and other dribbles to get to his spots, or drive it into the paint. Right now he looks more like an aggressive shooting guard looking for his shots, finding open spots, good rhythm, and form. He drop 3’s all over the court. His improving handles adds balance to a rising guard in this class.

Phillips is a threat to hit the 3-point shot whenever the opportunity presents it self. He’s still developing his ball handling skills, but can create his shot. He’ll have to get physically stronger. Right now he’s a shooting guard that can knock down big shots most of the time. We watched him knock down 3 straight late in a game on Saturday night to get the win.

Phillips got a nice bump up in this class after his performance on the big stage. The CIF State D II Championship game at The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. He’s a long, and growing shooting guard, confidently dropped multiple 3’s like a seasoned prospect, not phased by the moment to help his team claim the title. We’ll see if he can continue to build on this momentum.

Standing 6’3, the lengthy arm Phillips is still growing. He uses that arm length on the defensive side of ball taking up passing lanes and getting deflections, then finishing with transition layups. He has good lateral movement defending out on the perimeter. He takes care of the ball, doesn’t waste dribbles, handles are good. He’s a good court runner, filling lanes. We’ve seen him make a 3ptr along the perimeter. We’ll have to see more of his offensive capabilities, for now he’s contributing defensively.

He’s a long arm prospect still growing. He plays off ball mostly, but can help bring it up to relieve pressure on occasion. He works along the perimeter, making the extra pass, moving, and being shot ready, he’ll shoot open 3’s. He has good defensive fundamentals, alertness, puts himself in help position, arms away from the body taking the passing lanes. He has good lateral movement to stay on ball, and he boxes out.
