He was very effective for them on offense thanks to his elite burst, elusiveness, and vertical. He burned defenders time and time again and flushed down dunks while making tough finishes too. The pressure he put on defenses at times was palpable, and he absolutely helped them win some close games because of it. He was also a playmaker on defense, picking off passes, coming up with loose balls, and grabbing rebounds. All in all, he played with purpose every time he was on the court, and his competitiveness was evident.

He’s notably had great performances against: Santa Margarita, Desert Pines, and Coronado. Overall, Johnson has been rounding out his game and continues to play with his foot on the gas. Expect him to remain a playmaker for the Gaels the rest of the way, and a difficult guard to match up with in the playoffs.

Defensively, he covered ground at a rapid rate and made the DP guards feel uncomfortable with his relentless ball pressure.

Despite the loss, he played well and finished the game with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks.
