is off to Ventura Community College in California. He is very talented with the rock in his hands, and often uses deceptive ball-handling moves to create space. Zumaya is also a threat from behind the 3-point line, and it’ll be fun to see how he continues to develop these next couple of years.

recently transferred to Paragon Academy. Since joining the Knights, he has been putting his scoring abilities on full display. He uses change of direction and switches up his pace to create separation. Zumaya also has the juice to throw dunk a dunk if given the opportunity. The other reason he has moved up the ranks quite a bit is due to his 3-point shooting. He can connect on more than three 3-pointers a game, which makes him even tougher to guard.

the rest of the year. He should make a positive impact right away due to his scoring prowess and passing abilities. Hopefully the addition leads to some more wins for the Knights.

torched Durango from behind the arc on Saturday. He displayed a ton of confidence when he let it go, and he ended up connecting on five 3-pointers. With a couple of them being a few feet well beyond the line. Zumaya also sliced through the defense on a couple of his drives to the rim. All in all, in was a great effort from the senior.

. He is a very talented combo guard who can fill it up in a hurry. Right now I would have to say his top skills are ball-handling skills and shooting. He also has a lot of upper and lower body strength, and can match-up with most guards.

Gaston was featured in my “Sharpshooters To Watch” article a couple of months ago. The senior guard has some clever maneuvers to get to his spots and he has the potential to average over 20 PPG this year. College coaches may want to keep him on your radar. He could break out and lead Green Valley to a winning season.

Green Valley had their hands full against a talented Coronado team, but Zumaya still managed to have a pretty decent game. The combo guard converted on a number of tough lay-ups. He also found his teammates for open shots after a few of his drives. I think that he can easily average 20 points per game this season for the Gators, especially if he gets to the free throw line.

Back from Oregon, this point guard has a knack for scoring and setting up easy baskets for his teammates. The attribute that sets him apart from other guards, is his pace. Since he is always playing in control, he is able to play smart taking what the defense gives him. His defenders have to respect his handles and which opens up a decent amount of 3-point opportunities. I expect him to knock down a few 3-pointers a game and for some colleges to take notice of his scoring ability by the time the season is over.

Zumaya has always had a powerful frame, he’s now added lean cut muscle. The extra muscle looked like it helped with his quickness and power, as he routinely defeated his initial defender, and finished through contact. Already known as a big time scorer, don’t be suprised if his PPG’s take a bump this Grassroots season.
