Dominic Rudd
About Dominic
Expert Analysis
Anthony Fortuna | Prep Hoops Scout
Dominic Rudd has a 75 inch wingspan to go with his eye popping athletic testing numbers. He has always been a pest on defense, and his length is somewhat deceptive since Opponents aren’t always expecting him to jump passes. Which allows him to gather steals when he times it right.

Dominic Rudd placed in the top 3 of every athletic drill at the combine. In the Pro Agility Drill he posted a time of 4.48 seconds (good for 3rd) and in the Lane Agility Drill he posted a time of 10.22 seconds (tied for second). Rudd used his hips well in the deceleration portion, and he also has some real acceleration skills after decelerating. With his ability to change direction, he should be able to get to the cup even more.

Dominic Rudd is yet another top 5 player that is leaving the state. He will continue to play for Paragon Academy down in Arizona at The Phaacility. He is a very tough guard for defenders and he has limitless range from beyond the arc. Rudd also showcased his athleticism a good amount this spring/summer and threw down dunks and lobs regularly.

has been suiting up for PA Elite this spring. He’s been averaging 17.3 PPG for them and he has been helping them grab some wins as well. I’ve noticed that he’s getting to his mid-range a bit more often, and he’s getting to the line at a higher rate. Defensively, he has been stout and it’s become a strength of his. His instincts enable him to pick of passes, and he uses timely pokes to cause turnovers.

led the way for PA Elite in their win over Team Decisive. The savvy guard utilized creative footwork to get a very tough turn around jump shot off over a taller defender. He was also making 3’s, attacking the rack, and getting to the line. On defense, Rudd kept his man in check and also had two timely steals in the last minute to help close things out.

was a menace on defense for PA Elite yesterday. He was constantly picking of passes when the other team was attempting to advance the ball. Once he secured the steal he was dishing the ball off to shooters in the corner or forwards that were up ahead. I also saw him throw down a big dunk in transition and he splashed in a pair of 3-pointers.

did what he does, and lit it up from downtown in both games that I caught. Rudd also put his elite athleticism on display by throwing down an alley-oop with authority against LV United. On defense, he covered ground quickly and caused turnovers. All in all, he played at a high level and I liked that he was trying a few new moves on offense.

moves up a spot after having a phenomenal season for Paragon Academy. They played in the highly competitive EIBC league, and Rudd more than held his own. Despite being one of the younger guys on the team, he led the team in scoring and consistently lit it up from beyond the arc. His season high was 40 points (against Grover Cleveland), and he averaged over four 3-pointers a game. In conference play, the other EIBC teams caught on to his lethal shooting ability, but he still found ways to score. I was also a fan of his defense. As he can rack up steals in a hurry, and occasionally he’ll get a block.

delivered for Paragon in the championship game with Mountain Valley Prep. The junior guard seemingly couldn’t miss and buried five 3-pointers and a couple of long distance jumpers. Rudd had a stellar defensive performance as well, coming up with multiple steals and a block. Earlier in the weekend Rudd also threw down a vicious dunk over a 6’5 defender who was attempting to block it.
