will be heading across the country to Eastern Florida to continue his basketball career. He proved to be one of the more dynamic playmakers in Nevada this past season, and I’m sure he’ll look to add even more to his game in college.

got to the cup and also knocked down a pair of shots from beyond the arc on Friday night. He utilized his slick ball-handling to get by his defenders, and they also started to foul him as the game went on. Perhaps his top play of the game was when he got a steal and then pulled up for a 3-pointer, which he made.

also put on quite the shooting performance for the Mountain Lions. He started the game by attacking the basket and getting to the line. Then he found his stroke from behind the 3-point line and drained four 3-pointers. In addition to his scoring, he had some absolute dimes to his teammates. Including two alley-oop assists to his super bouncey teammate,

had a decent performance for the Mountain Lions. On offense, he was creating his own shot and had a few crafty takes to the rim. I also saw him find his teammates for some open looks. On defense, he played the passing lanes and helped force some turnovers.

Yapi’s been contributing in just about every way for Sierra Vista this season. Right now, he is averaging 15.1 PPG, 4.9 APG. 7.1 RPG, and 3.1 SPG. His 4.9 APG is good for 8th in assists in the state. I also like the way he’s been competing recently. I watched Sierra Vista’s game against Monterey Trail and he really left it all out there on the court.

Yapi has shown out at the Varsity Fall League and The Border League. The savvy point guard has next level court vision and knows where his teammates are even if he doesn’t seem to be looking at them. His high IQ allows him to make smart split second decisions. I was also impressed by his shooting and how aggressive he was some of his takes to the basket at The Border League.
