Continue ReadingProbably the best athlete in the state on a pound for pound basis, Aveion is a walking highlight reel on the court and had several of the best dunks in Kentucky this season. The other aspects of his game are still a work in progress but if Chenault can become a reliable shooter and secondary ball handler, his potential is very high.
Green is on the opposite end of the spectrum from Chenault in the sense that his game is based on skill and shot making more than athleticism. Andersen has a high basketball IQ and great feel for the game and has shown that he can score the ball from anywhere. He uses his strong frame to finish through opposing defenders and get to the free throw line.
Lyons has been one of the best pure scorers in the 5th region for the last couple of seasons and shows no signs of slowing down. Layken has shown he can knock down threes or get to the rim. As his ball handling continues to improve, he could transition over to the point guard spot at the next level.
Another 5th region star who puts up big scoring numbers, Loy actually led Adair County past Taylor County in the regional this season. Connor is undersized but knows how to get to the rim and finish. He’s also a good free throw shooter who converts at the line when he gets there.
Highlights
Likely the best pure shooter in this group, Richardson’s numbers actually took a bit of a hit this season but with his size and lightning quick release, Gage is a big time shooter that has the potential to heat up in a hurry. His continued development can play a large role in determining how far Great Crossing can go in the next two years.
