About Aveion
Expert Analysis
Steve Quattrocchi | Prep Hoops Scout
Likely the most entertaining player to watch in the 25 class, Chenault is an explosive athlete with a 38 inch standing vertical. Aveion makes highlight plays every night out and may have led the state in transition dunks if that were a stat that was kept.

Chenault’s athleticism stands out every time he takes the court. He attacks the defense by driving and cutting to the basket, where he can finish through contact or throw down a monster dunk. He generates extra possessions for his team by soaring for offensive rebounds. His shot-blocking ability makes it difficult for opponents to score inside when he is lurking nearby.

Chenault is one of the most effective two-way players in the 25 class as he averages 11 points and 5 rebounds per game while playing lockdown defense on the other end. A super athlete who holds P5 offers on the football field, Aveion is a walking highlight reel on the basketball court.

Probably the most athletic kid in Kentucky, Aveion has power 5 offers in football but could just as easily earn offers on the basketball court over the next year. Chenault is blessed with a 39 inch vertical and he uses it to make some of the silliest dunk highlights Kentucky has seen lately.

Chenault is one of the most athletic kids in Kentucky, period. With his vertical jumping and ability to be a hound on defense, Aveion is one of the best two way guards in the class. Aveion’s likely to be a Power 5 wide receiver in college but he could easily play D1 basketball as well.

Known more as a standout on the football field, Chenault is a legitimate prospect on the hardwood too. The athletic guard averaged double figures in two games and had a big time dunk over a 6’8 center. He has to be one of the best rebounding guards in the state.

Probably the best athlete in the state on a pound for pound basis, Aveion is a walking highlight reel on the court and had several of the best dunks in Kentucky this season. The other aspects of his game are still a work in progress but if Chenault can become a reliable shooter and secondary ball handler, his potential is very high.

Sticking with Douglass, Aveion moved up from 29th to 12th in the class and had the best highlight reel of anyone in the state this season. An explosive athlete, Chenault is deadly off the bounce and when attacking the offensive glass. To take the next step in his development, Aveion needs to become a more consistent three point shooter but he should see scholarship offers coming soon. He already has several for football.

Chenault’s athleticism is contagious and electrifies this young Frederick Douglas team. Probably one of the best athletes in the state, he can finish above the rim both in transition and in the half court but usually his baskets lead to big runs for them. Streaky shooter that has the ability to get hot from distance. If he gets going and in a groove this week, they can win it all. Huge week for him.
