Staying in the same district, Josh Bowman is a potential breakout star for Douglass. Maybe not this season, but soon. An athletic and physical combo guard who excels at attacking the rim, Josh is a two way impact player who continues to show he can get to the rim against most any defender. Bowman still needs to improve his jumpshot to reach his ceiling but he’s a very athletic and strong guard who can make a difference with whatever court time he gets this season.

Bowman has grown and filled out in the last few months and appears ready to contribute for a Douglass team that has their eyes on winning the 11th region this season. There are 8 returning Seniors for the Broncos so it remains to be seen how much varsity time Bowman will see but he’s got the physical tools to make an impact when he’s on the floor.

As mentioned in the biggest movers article, Bowman is a good athlete who should be in the mix to be a role player for Douglass next season. Josh looks like he’ll continue growing and could eventually be a bigger guard or even a wing. If he can straighten out his three point shooting, it looks like Bowman will be a potential impact player in Lexington.

Douglass returns quite a bit next season but will need to replace the depth they’re losing to graduation. Bowman Jr moves up 10 spots overall from 54th to 44th and looks like he could really develop over the next 6-9 months. Josh plays hard and can play on or off the ball but if he can straighten out his jumper, look for him to be a meaningful rotation piece at Douglass.
