On Tuesday night we had some good basketball being played all across the state. Edmond Memorial stunned Norman at the buzzer Several other contenders flexed their muscles with impressive wins. Email Michael@PrepHoops.com and be sure to send in your top performer picks following the games.
Our first standout is a name that you might see quite a bit over the next three seasons. Crossings Christian sophomore guard Cal Furnish Cal Furnish 5’11” | PG Crossings Christian | 2025 State OK was one of the more impactful freshmen in the state last season and he picked up right where he left off on Tuesday night. Crossings would go on the road and take down defending 3A champion Millwood in their season opener. Furnish would finish with 24 points in the win and he’s leading a Crossings team that is absolutely loaded with young talent. Not only will they be a contender this year once again, but they have to be a team to watch over the next several years as the combination of Furnish and freshman Phoenix Woodson Phoenix Woodson 6’8″ | SF Crossings Christian | 2026 State OK will be fun to watch.
The game of the night probably took place in Norman as Edmond Memorial would stun the Tigers on the road with a shot right before the buzzer to escape with a 37-36 road win. The Bulldogs would get the ball to junior guard Ciaran Pedulla Ciaran Pedulla 6’3″ | SG Edmond Memorial | 2024 State OK and he would do the rest as he drove, found a gap in the defense and attacked the basket and finished. The Tigers would get a shot up but it was well defended, including Pedulla helping out to survive with a win. Pedulla would finish with seven points on the night but it was the game-winner that proved to be arguably the biggest shot of Tuesday’s games. That’s a great win for the Bulldogs going on the road and beating a senior-led Norman team.
The only freshman to make this breakdown is Sapulpa freshman guard Fabian Harris Fabian Harris 6’3″ | SG Tulsa Memorial | 2026 State OK . The Chieftains started off the season in style with a strong rivalry win over Sand Springs. Within the win, Harris would lead the Chieftains with 18 points. Sapulpa is a team to look out for in Class 5A, especially when March rolls around. This is a young team that is going to be absolutely battle-tested after playing in the Frontier Conference, which is made up of almost all 6A schools. As the Chieftains square off with top team after top team, they might get some bumps and bruises. But they’ll be competing against a tough schedule and they should be better for it when March and the playoffs roll around.
One of the best shooting performances from Tuesday night took place in Vinita as Catoosa would open up their season with a comfortable win on the road. Senior guard Greyson Lewallen Greyson Lewallen 6’2″ Catoosa | 2023 OK shot the lights out of the gym and finished with a game-high 30 points. He would knock down seven shots from beyond the perimeter and it wasn’t just his shooting that earned his way onto this list. He also showed that he can play a little defense to go with that shooting as he finished the game with five steals on the night. Catoosa is going to be an interesting team to watch this season under first year head coach Evan Drake. They are in an absolutely loaded Class 4A, but they could surprise a few teams.

In one of the marquee games in Class 5A on Tuesday night, Tahlequah got a strong 59-56 win over Collinsville at home. These two teams will be two of the better teams on the east side of Class 5A this season and a win over the Cardinals will certainly help the Tigers down the stretch. Leading the way was senior big man Hayden Smith Hayden Smith 6’8″ | PF Tahlequah | 2023 State OK , who finished with 21 points in the victory. This was a game that featured two of the better big men in Class 5A with Smith and then Collinsville junior Zac Brown. Smith and the Tigers got the edge on Tuesday night and will use this to get some momentum heading into their tournament they are hosting next week.
Get ready to see this name on top performer posts all season. Nathan Hale is no longer a dark horse in Class 5A, they are a serious contender for one of those state tournament spots and could truly contend this season behind junior standout guard Kabron Lewis Kabron Lewis 6’2″ | CG Hale | 2024 State OK . The dynamic junior was outstanding last year as a sophomore and he’s elevated his game to new heights this season. In the win over East Central on Tuesday night, Lewis would finish with 23 points and continued to show that not only can he fill up the stat sheet, he can also get other players involved. And this isn’t just a one man show, the Rangers have some serious talent on the floor and they’ll be a team to watch in Class 5A.

We saved the best for last. Not on purpose, the list was done alphabetically. But the best performance of Tuesday night did come from Edmond North junior guard TO Barrett TO Barrett 6’4″ | SG Link Academy | 2024 #138 Nation MO . He definitely made a rather loud announcement that not only is he one of the top junior prospects in the state, he’s going to be one of the top overall players in Oklahoma this season. Barrett finished with a game-high 33 points in the win, but it was what he did down the stretch that earned his way on this list. Barrett and the Huskies were locked into a battle with Norman North until Barrett would score 14 straight down the stretch, including four shots from beyond the arc to help lead Edmond North to the win.
