One of the youngest players in Ohio’s 2025 class, Friery had a great summer not only for Saint Ignatius but also on the grassroots circuit with Ohio Rebels and Bates Fundamentals. Friery has a lot of natural talent and is just scratching the surface for his ability, this year should be his breakout party.
Green graduates some impressive seniors so Bundalo will be the new guy tasked with leading their team. Bundalo has the natural talent to take over games on the interior and has expanded his skill set to take defenders off the bounce and knock down jumpers. Bundalo should be one of the most impactful players in the Federal League this winter.
Lima Sr is another program who graduated a lot of talent but Cotton is set to fill in for those that graduated and then some. Cotton is one of the best shooters in Ohio’s 2025 class and based off the highlights I saw against Middletown in the Spartans foundation game, Cotton will be one of the top scorers in the TRAC this season as just a Sophomore.
I have lofty expectations for Marion Local this winter and a lot of that hinges on Jack Knapke Jack Knapke 6’8″ | C Marion Local | 2024 State OH dominating but Niekamp is the next most important piece on the roster. Niekamp has the ability to stretch the floor at 6’7 from the outside and playing alongside Knapke will give Marion Local two guys who can protect the rim and rebound over smaller opponents they’ll face in conference play and during a playoff run.
McMorris won UA Rise 15 U MVP after helping lead his Nova Village squad to a UA Rise championship. That program has a couple players who could break out, including Tyler Kropp Tyler Kropp 6’8″ | PF Olentangy Liberty | 2025 State OH and Devin Brown Devin Brown 6’5″ | SF Olentangy Orange | 2025 State OH , but I choose McMorris because Gahanna will have a completely new look roster this winter after graduating a core group that won a lot of games during their careers. McMorris will have the chance to step in as one of the leading scorers and rebounders for the Golden Lions.
Another one of the elite shooters in Ohio’s 2025 class, Finefrock and Kyle Monterrubio Kyle Monterrubio 6’3″ | SF Massillon Jackson | 2025 State OH will both play key roles as Massillon Jackson balances a solid group of seniors and underclassmen this winter. Finefrock can get hot with the best of the best in the state and it’ll be interesting to see how he handles defenses who will be sure to want to limit his 3-point attempts in their defensive gameplan.
