One of the most productive high school players in the state, few players impact winning quite like Brown does. One of the elite passers in the state, Brown can dish it through tight passing windows to his teammates. The Pioneers have fallen in the regional final the past two seasons but with Brown they are one of the favorites to win the state championship this time around.

Brown played the best game I’ve seen him have in his career as he willed Olentangy Orange to a win over the defending Division I state champions. Brown was magnificent with his ability to draw the defense and hit cutters with impressive passes through traffic. Brown also was attacking the rim with aggression and simply powered his way to the paint a couple times to score at the rim. The definition of a winning basketball player, Brown might be the most valuable high school player in the state.

Brown displayed something I think will be an issue for most teams to deal with this season. He is a 6’5 guard that most will not be able to guard due to the size of this Pioneers squad. His size was a mismatch most of the game. He got to the rim easily and got many second-chance points. He was finishing over and through contact. He is a walking mismatch and it showed against a guard-heavy Westerville North squad.

could take this team to the next level. On Saturday they scrimmaged some of the top teams in the state and he did exactly that. His level of play took this Orange squad to another level. He is such an impactful player with his size and skill. He plays point guard a ton and is an elite playmaker. He has the size for a scoring mismatch. He does a great job of rebounding and defending as well. It’s just a player that does it all.

When Brown has the ball in his hands there is all the trust in the world. As a senior, he is such a mature player that he has seen it all and nothing can phase him. He makes the right play and knows when to take over and not. He is an unselfish player with a great feel for the game. He makes the big shots and correct plays. If Orange wants to get over the hump Brown has to be the one to do that for them. I think he can.

Our number one team in Division I heading into the season is Olentangy Orange. The Pioneers have been to back-to-back regional finals and I believe this is their most talented team.

Olentangy Orange was another squad that was limited due to absences and injuries, but Brown had a big time end to a back and forth battle with Bishop Hartley. Hartley did an excellent job of trapping Brown and making him give up the ball early. Brown obliged by beating the traps with the pass and gave his teammates chances to score in advantageous situations. When it came down to closing time, Brown made some key shots off the dribble including two tough buckets in the final minutes to steal a win. When fully loaded, Olentangy Orange projects to be one of the top teams in central Ohio once again this season. They’ve made it to the regional championship back-to-back years, could Brown be the one to help them break through and make it to Dayton?
