So instead, I’m opting to break down prospects by area. Here’s a look at the top players in Louisville. This list is not meant to be a ranking of best high school players right now. This is a ranking of best college prospects in the city.
It’s lofty praise to put an incoming freshman on the top of this list but his resume and offers already back up Jayden’s position on top. Johnson is a big shooting guard and holds early offers from West Virginia, Cincinnati and Missouri.
Musa has been called an X factor before but there is no hiding him anymore as he’s primed for a breakout season. Clinton is quick and super bouncy. He has a good jumper and advanced feel for the game despite only having been playing for a few years. He’s another high major
King already holds several D1 offers and will likely have more coming his way before all is said and done. Damone is a skilled and tough guard who can create offense for himself or his teammates and that’s why he’s earned several Mid Major D1 offers so far.
Damone’s AAU teammate, Vasser has also earned multiple D1 offers already in the recruiting process. Drae is strong and a good shooter from range. Capable of running a team or creating his own offense, Vasser is a definite mid major D1 guard.
JuJu is the third Warrior on the list and has as much potential as the other two on the loaded Warrior roster. As Edmonds gets more comfortable on the wing, he should be a prototypical 3/4 who can stretch bigs to the outside or post up smaller players.
Already committed to East Carolina, Cyr is a high upside big that should continue developing at the next level. We could easily see him in the transfer portal and moving up to the high major level in a year or two.
As outlined in our top players in the city article, House is impossible to keep out of the paint and has already earned a D1 offer. Quel’ron’s transfer from Ballard should be interesting to track as he will now be the focal point of the offense as opposed to a third or fourth scoring option like he was for the Bruins.
Perhaps a surprise on the list to some, Dayton has the tools to be a really nice shooting guard/wing prospect thanks to his length and athleticism. Williams should track with multiple D1 schools as he has the potential to be an impact player at the next level as he develops and adds bulk to his wiry frame.
