About Drae
Expert Analysis
Steve Quattrocchi | Prep Hoops Scout
Vasser is one of the best prospects remaining unsigned in the class. A fierce competitor, Drae is a natural leader who was hampered by an injury that cost him most of his final AAU season. He’s a D1 caliber player.

Vasser is a strong, athletic guard that can score in a variety of ways. He is very quick and difficult to contain when attacking in transition. Additionally, he is a reliable shooter from 3-point range. This creates driving lanes for him to get to the basket, where he finishes at a high rate.

One of the best unsigned players in the class, Vasser has been offered by D1 schools in the past and could earn new ones if he can lead Trinity on a deep run next week. Look for Drae to use his quickness to attack the paint on offense and sit down and guard on the defensive end.

Drae is one of the most fierce competitors in Louisville and one of my favorite players to watch in the class. Vasser is quick and shifty with an obvious basketball IQ. From all reports, he works his tail off in the gym and will be the best player he can be. He’s one of the best available players in this class.

In a thrilling overtime battle between Division I prospects, Vasser was sensational finishing with 40 points and leaving with the win. Vasser is impossible to stop when he grabs a rebound and goes into attack mode. You must stop his dribble penetration before he reaches the volleyball line in mid transition, or he will score at the rim. Also making a handful of 3-point shots including a top of the key make, dribble handoff and a nasty step back at the third quarter buzzer. After his big-time game, I was reached out by multiple Division I coaches who were curious to hear my thoughts on his performance.

Drae Vasser Drae Vasser 6'1" | PG Louisville Trinity | 2024 State KY was Trinity’s leading scorer and rebounder last season, averaging 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds. Also, a terrific free throw shooter, at 85% (85-100). Drae is athletic and finishes strong. He’s a playmaker that stays active on both ends of the floor. Vasser is definitely one of the top talents in the seventh region and the state.

Drae is a tough as nails guard who has a big time game thanks to a high skill level and a killer mentality. I’m excited to see Vasser back on the court this season after he missed most of his 17u AAU season with an injury.

Vasser is a top 10 or better talent in the 24 class but he’s been slowed by an ankle injury that cost him almost his entire AAU season. Once he gets back to 100% from his injury, expect Vasser to be in the mix for 7th region player of the year as he leads a Trinity team that can compete for a state title this year.

Drae is one of my favorite players in the class because he plays so hard and with an edge to him. His move to Trinity this season helped improve his already solid defense and showed he can play with the ball in his hands most of the time with very few turnovers. Vasser has several offers and should get more this summer.
