Freeman has a high ceiling thanks to his length and athleticism. Micah is an explosive dunker who has had some of the best dunks in Louisville over the past year. The next step in his evolution is to commit to becoming a better jump shooter. If he can become a better shooter and solid ball handler, Freeman projects very well to the next level because he has the intangibles you cannot teach.

The athletic wing from DeSales had some serious highlights this season. With a big frame and really good athleticism, Freeman is the type of player who could see his stock really take off. If he gets to play on the wing instead of playing more like a post, Micah has a chance to be the biggest stock booster in this class.

Freeman appeared to be 6’6″ at minimum and maybe longer in the 7th Region tournament. The sophomore wing didn’t play a huge role for the Colts this year, probably adjusting to the increased speed of the game and the seniority of tenured players as most underclassmen do. His potential, however, is very high with his size and instincts. He was perfect from the field in DeSales’ quarterfinal matchup in addition to knocking down 3/4 FT attempts to finish with 11 PTS and 5 REB. Expect Micah to be a significant two-way threat for the Colts next season.

Micah was among the most impressive prospects to me on Sunday and was definitely the most eye popping 2028 that I had not already seen. Blessed with great size, it’s clear that Freeman has some serious potential. He made the most of his offensive opportunities in 5 on 5 and showed he can hit threes. He made two in a row before missing the third. Once he becomes more consistent, Freeman should be a fast rising Sophomore in Louisville.

The winner of the MVP trophy for the 9th and 10th grade Division, Freeman was productive sitting in the dunker spot and making himself available to catch and finish in the paint. A mobile big, Freeman would beat other forwards down the court with long strides and could catch and finish in transition. With a strong frame for his age as well, it’s easy to see the long-term upside with Freeman. A potential stock riser in Kentucky during the next rankings update if Freeman continues to show this type of production and motor.
