Since then, he has climbed into the top 30 in the state in three-pointers per game at 3.1. Through 14 games, Johnson is 43-for-106 from deep, shooting 40.6%. A big shooter who thrives from the wing, he has a fast release and can score in multiple ways, off the catch or off the dribble, all with a smooth, confident motion.

Johnson broke out onto the scene the summer heading into his freshman year when he impressed at the KABC Titans shootout for Louisville Trinity, helping his team win the championship. Johnson has been a notable player in the Louisville area his entire high school career and has decided to head out west to play for Wasatch Academy on the Nike Scholastic league for his senior season. I really like this fit for Johnson who is at his best with other stars around him and for Trinity who impressed in June after Johnson left, seems like a win-win situation for all involved as Johnson looks to make a college decision.

Johnson could surge back to the top of these rankings with a good summer. Jayden has all the tools and great positional size at 6’5 which is why he’s been at the top of these rankings since they started. If Johnson gets his shooting stroke back, his stock should take off again.

Jayden remains on top of the class but has a huge AAU season ahead of him where he needs to get his national momentum going again. Johnson passes the eye test as a big wing shooter and usually excels with more talent around him. Looking forward to seeing how Jayden performs in the EYBL this spring and summer.

Just back from a high ankle sprain that cost him the first few weeks of the season, Johnson is a top 50-100 prospect nationally, depending on where you look. Jayden is a big wing shooter who impacts winning in several ways.

Another Kentucky squad that fell to one of Cincinnati’s best teams in Princeton, Johnson was a bright spot for Trinity. After attending the crosstown shootout in the afternoon, Johnson had a strong performance where he made shots from the perimeter, played tough and was productive on both ends. I think the evaluation for Johnson is best at the EYBL level with Mokan as that most closely resembles the type of role I expect him to play at the college level. I do find it worthwhile for Johnson to continue to get reps as a creator and ball handler with Trinity.

Jayden remains one of the best prospects to come through Kentucky in recent years. Johnson is a big wing with a quick trigger as a shooter and the ability to attack the rim off the bounce. His game is best described as smooth and Jayden has only improved as a playmaker in the past few years. Expect Jayden to be one of the go-to scorers in Louisville this season.

I’ve been following Johnson for a long time and Sunday was maybe his best performance I’ve ever seen him have. A strong wing guard, Johnson is another guy who wants to be physical at the point of attack when attacking downhill. Best as a set shooter from the outside, Johnson hit some big shots off drive and skip passes from his guard teammates. Playing on balance and under control is key for Johnson on the circuit, as it’s tough to find efficient shots off multiple dribbles. I was also really impressed with the resilience Johnson showed after starting the game slow, to completely take over in a stretch in the middle of the game.
