A prospect who has been a killer on the EYBL Scholastic circuit, don’t let the Stephen F Austin commitment fool you, Manciel is a big-time talent. The first place team in the Southland Conference is 25-4 and it’s because they recruit talents like Manciel. In many of Wasatch’s biggest games of the season, Manciel has stood out as an efficient scorer and a tough on ball defender against either guard position. I expect Manciel to hit the ground running at the college level and he picked a program that consistently wins at the Division I level.

While he may not be the top scorer, he consistently delivers with clutch baskets. His effective floor spacing through his shooting, combined with his sound, winning-oriented play style, makes him a highly sought-after D1 prospect.

Manciel stuffed the stat sheet with his play by doing a little bit of everything in the win. He had four three pointers and if his feet are set there is a high chance he is connecting. He finished with 11 points. He was a threat to make things happen on or off the ball.

One of my favorite under the radar players in the Nike Scholastic league, Manciel has a lot of ability on the offensive end. Knocking down some tough contested jumpers, Manciel didn’t seem to be too bothered by a hand in his face. He hit a nasty mid-range pull up and also had a turnaround fallaway jumper right over a defender’s face. With a quick first step, the opposition found it tough to stay in front of Manciel at the point of attack. I also loved that he talked on defense, directing his teammates through switches on screens. Expect Manciel to make a big impact right away at the college level.
