Nwigwe did a little bit of everything for his Wasatch team. He was able to get rebounds and steals and showed that he can be a willing defender. He was a threat to play above the rim also. Chidi had no issue doing the grunge work for his team.

Nwigwe is a smooth, athletic wing who continues to show a high-level offensive package. He has real breakdown ability and can create separation off the bounce to get into his scoring spots. Nwigwe can knock down the three consistently, which keeps defenses honest and opens up driving lanes. He also has the athleticism to get to the basket and finish plays when he turns the corner. Once he finds his rhythm, he can heat up quickly and score in bunches. He plays with great pace and poise, never forcing the action and letting the game come to him. With his shot-making and ability to attack closeouts, he’s a tough matchup and a player to keep a close eye on.

Making a return to the East Coast in his second school year away from the region, the New York native made the most of his time closer to home with two efficient and highly-productive outings. Nwigwe erupted for 28 points on Monday in a blowout win over Roman Catholic (PA), showing comfort in a new role as primarily an opportunistic finisher off cuts and crashes or in transition. Having played more of an on-ball role as an underclassman, he thrived playing off of Wasatch’s pair of Big East-bound guards, using his massive wingspan and easy leaping ability to wreak havoc working downhill on limited dribbles. His length and quick feet were a factor on the defensive end as well. With his motor running like it was in Salisbury, there aren’t many more promising unsigned seniors in the country.

#3 ranked in the state of Kansas, who is another super-star out of Sunrise Christian Academy. Has a beautiful game to watch; he plays with poise, patience, and has smooth overall mechanics to his movement on the floor. Whenever he makes a shot, the nets on the rim sound different. The last time I heard the nets sound like that was when I was watching Dirk Nowitzki play live in New Orleans against the Hornets at the time, through the loud rim microphones they have in the league. Chidi’s buckets didn’t have microphones on the rim, so this was very eye-opening. This is when I realized that Chid’s swishes are so pure that the sound wave can travel and possibly shatter glass. They may need to go ahead and ban the microphones when he decides to go pro.
