JuJu is a bucket getter on the low block and can be a really good rebounder when he wants to be. Georgetown College got a steal in Edmonds as he had D1 offers early in the recruiting cycle.

A mismatch forward who can post up or attack off the bounce, I think JuJu is the biggest X factor in Trinity winning the 7th region again or not. He’s a talented forward with a high ceiling.

Edmonds is a versatile forward who can do a variety of things on the court. A strong frame and athletic profile, Edmonds has received offers from Edward Waters, Georgetown College and Onley Central, getting love from a variety of levels. After a productive summer with Griffin Elite , Edmonds will be seen frequently by college programs this winter as Louisville Trinity always plays a stacked schedule and is in a handful of marquee events this season.

Edmonds is another player who got hurt and missed a large portion of the Summer. JuJu had a really bad ankle injury in early June and has barely played since. Once he’s rested and ready, look for Edmonds to make a push for 7th region player of the year as one of the best and most skilled posts in the state.

Griffin Elite has a ton of offensive talent so their scoring is usually spread out across their 17 U roster. On Saturday, Edmonds made an immediate impact with his interior scoring and physicality. A strong forward who can score with his back to the basket, Edmonds used his post moves to bully defenders at the rim. A solid athlete with a head of steam, Edmonds threw down a couple dunks going up off his preferred right foot. A capable shooter from the outside, if you leave Edmonds open he will make you pay from 3-point range. A top player from the Louisville area, I expect Edmonds recruitment to pick back up in the summer.

Edmonds transferred to Trinity before the season started and took a little while to get eligible and settle in. When the game is on the line, Julius is among the best go to scorers in the state and can score the ball on the block or facing up.

Trinity was absolutely dominant in their win over Butler County, firing on all cylinders to jump out to a 30+ point lead in the third quarter. I thought Edmonds was their key piece with his physicality in the paint, scoring at the rim and using his strength to grab rebounds. His motor looked much improved from when I watched Edmonds during the summer, playing hard on both ends of the court and doing the little things it took to win. Wanting to attack and go up with his left hand, Edmonds had a couple power finishes in the paint including a transition dunk that got the crowd going. In the second half Edmonds even popped out and knocked down a 3-pointer. After catching Trinity early in the season with Edmonds still ineligible, he makes a big difference for a team that has the potential to win it all this season.

Edmonds is a mismatch problem for most opponents as he’s got a really polished post game as well as the ability to put the ball on the floor from the perimeter and go finish. Julius is a strong forward with the ability to rebound at a high rate and has big time defensive versatility with his ability to guard almost any position on the floor.

A certified bucket in the low post, Julius reminds me of former Bowling Green forward and current Chicago Bull Terry Taylor. A bruising forward who can score on the block or face you up and get a bucket, Edmonds could be the breakout player in Louisville this season.

The mass exodus from Western high school was quick and painful for the Warrior basketball program but Edmonds is the top prize of the transfer season. Trinity adding JuJu to the mix makes them a state title contender and the likely favorite to win the always loaded 7th region.
