This is the final part of the Top 20 Duos of 2023, wrapping up with the final five duos to watch. It’s all on the line for these 2023’s as they approach their final high school seasons. Here are the final 16 thru 20.

16. (48) [player_tooltip player_id="1416698" first="Dylan" last="Reilly"] SF 6’6 / (56) [player_tooltip player_id="1416731" first="Trey" last="Crandall"] CG 6’1 | Skyline

These two guys are as similar as they are different. Both Reilly and Crandall can be spotted bringing the ball up and initiating the offense. Both have exceptional handles and succeed from quick and smooth pull-ups. And both are able to create lanes to the hoop and finish. However, one is an athletic 6’1 guard, and the other is a more grounded 6’6 forward. You wouldn’t think they pose similar games based on appearance, but they both get the same things done, just a little differently. For Skyline to take the next step this duo will have to work off each other, space the floor, and create for teammates in the coming year.

17. (45) [player_tooltip player_id="1270714" first="Kobe" last="Parlin"] CG 6’1 / (68) [player_tooltip player_id="1270616" first="Deacon" last="Dietz"] SG 6’3 | Mark Morris

The thing I love most about this pair is how disruptive they can be. Parlin has a long reach and quick instincts to jump passing lanes and get pokes. Dietz is a broad-shouldered athletic freak who wins loose balls by out-hustling opponents. They both love to push the ball and are capable of making both the long downcourt passes and the finishes at the end of them. They both create well offensively, and while Parlin is a more polished scorer, Dietz is a tough finisher and never gives up on a possession. This backcourt duo will keep Mark Morris in view of a trip to State in 2023, and possibly more.

18. (58) [player_tooltip player_id="1416695" first="Carson" last="Boesel"] SG 6’4 / (70) [player_tooltip player_id="1416699" first="Jaden" last="Radke"] SF 6’3 | Okanogan

Here’s another inside-out combo, this time hailing from a small school in Northeastern Washington. Over in Okanogan, Boesel and Radke were part of a 20-4 season and were ranked as the top team in 2B for a stint. They were the number one seed in districts but fell short of making the state tournament. It should serve as a big lesson for the duo next winter. Though they have a similar build their games are very different. Boesel can handle the ball, bury outside shots, and has a confident mid-range, while Radke is simply put a bully inside, finding openings and getting tough buckets to fall. They were tough to deal with last year and will be tough again in the coming season.

19. (51) [player_tooltip player_id="1086779" first="Semaj" last="Brown"] SG 6’4 / (72) [player_tooltip player_id="1416286" first="Tyrell" last="Nichols"] CG 6’2 | Auburn

These guys are two of just six players returning from the varsity squad last season, with Brown as the only returning starter. Granted, Auburn was one of, if not the best team in the state, it is a lot to ask of these two to keep that tradition going. While they weren’t the big names on the team, they were still big contributors. Both have good length, can stretch the floor, and have chase-down block ability. While Brown played primarily inside for the Trojans last season, he’s got the skill to be a wing player. And though Nichols didn’t start, he was one of the first guys off the bench and was critical in more than a few big games last year. There’s a lot of uncertainty in how these two will handle a much larger workload, but the defending champs have the poise and skill to succeed.

20. (44) [player_tooltip player_id="1270842" first="Emmett" last="Marquardt"] SF 6’8 / (73) [player_tooltip player_id="923105" first="Yemoni" last="Bradley-Howell"] CG 6’3 | Garfield

This is another duo most likely stepping into starting roles, as Garfield is only returning two of its five starters. Marquardt and Bradley-Howell have always shown potential and made the most of their minutes, but Garfield’s always been one of the most talented teams in the state too. Now is their time, and behind [player_tooltip player_id="923128" first="Jaylin" last="Stewart"] and [player_tooltip player_id="923119" first="Sherrell" last="McCullum Jr."], they could emerge as an elite complementary duo. Marquardt has great versatility at his height, showing practiced footwork and touch inside but also a reliable stroke from three. Bradley-Howell is a strong guard with excellent finishing ability at the rim and can make those acrobatic shots regularly. These two will have plenty of opportunities to shine as defenses key on their star teammates and have the skill to make them pay.
