Previous Rank: 44rnReilly is the shot-maker for one of the surprising and rising teams in the 4A this season. After missing out on the state tournament last year, Skyline entered this season a little under the radar. Thanks in part to Reilly, the Spartans are gaining attention and look like serious contenders. He’s a 6’6 shooting guard, emphasis and the shooting, and has been one of the better players at hitting clutch, contested shots in the early going of the season. He’s got the eyes of a shooter that seem to lock onto the hoop despite a hand in his face and drain shots right over the top of defenders. Reilly also has condensed quickness, with a few one dribble moves to shake free of tight defense and get just enough room for his shot to breathe. He’s been a big factor on the boards too and continues to use his size to influence the game.

One of the best games of the tournament was Reilly’s Skyline against Garfield in the second round. Skyline led for much of the game but ultimately lost by four to the Bulldogs. Reilly was a huge reason for Skyline’s success and his hot shooting was the catalyst for what many would have called an upset, even as Skyline took down Mount Si just before the Hardwood Invite. Reilly showed off great footwork and was able to hit the quick step back off one dribble and drain long shots all game. He was showing off pinpoint accuracy from mid-range, and from a few feet behind the arc.

Reilly is a versatile guard for the Spartans who can play from the outside on offense and pick up opposing bigs on defense. He has a great touch from behind the arc and can put together a few moves, create space, and hit from the pull-up. Inside, he’s a strong rebounder and defender, and he’ll be key for a team that lost a lot of size from last season.

The only lefty on this list, Reilly makes it look easy to get his shot off from just about anywhere. He’s good at making compact dribbles and quick footwork to create enough space to get his shot off but also has the strength to hit through tough coverage and off-balanced shots.

No. 2 | Reilly is a big lefty stroker who may not appear that fast or bursty, but don’t be fooled, the big guard has some shake. The first thing I thought when I saw him was Sam Perkins. Big, lefty, stroking threes, putting the ball on the floor, and even had the knee sleeve too. I still think that comparison works for Reilly, just put him at the guard spot. He’s highly skilled and one of the top scorers on the Eastside. He’ll lead a Skyline squad who came up just short of a regional game last season.
