Shooters come in all sorts of packages; 3-point specialists, off the dribble shooters, mid-range kings, microwave shooters, and the guys with deep range. We’re going to separate some of the top shooters in the state into these types of categories to try and focus on what makes them stand out when they let it fly. For part one of the top shooters in the state we’ll start with the guys whose shot charts cover the entirety of the floor, the anywhere shooters.
Christian King Christian King 6'8" | SG Seattle Prep | 2023 State WA | Seattle Prep
King is an all-around scorer whose game begins with the threat of his jumper and the ability to hit at any time, from any place. He keeps defenders off balance with his ability to hit the contested pull-ups, the deep threes, and off of any type of gather.
Dylan Reilly Dylan Reilly 6'6" | SG Skyline | 2023 State WA | Skyline
Reilly is great at spotting up or shooting off of the dribble, but his ability to rise up over tight defense and knock down tough shots is what separates him from a lot of other shooters. He’s got good height and focus that help him lay claim to one of the best shooters in the state.
Luke Browne Luke Browne 6'6" | SG Gig Harbor | 2023 State WA | Gig Harbor
Yet another player who is unfazed by the defense, Browne can sink shots all around the arc, hit from the short corner, work off the block, and stroke from way behind the 3-point line. He showed some real ability at the state tournament last year hitting the tough contested shots and is a guy to watch when the tournament kicks off again.
Kelson Gebbers Kelson Gebbers 6'6" | SF Brewster | 2023 State WA | Brewster
A well-rounded shooter who doesn’t need much space to hit, Gebbers has great one-two moves to quickly create space for the shot. He’s patient in the setup and possesses great strength to shield off defenders and get his shots away.
Parker Gerrits Parker Gerrits 6'1" | PG Olympia | 2023 State WA | Olympia
Just a gritty overall player, Gerrits can make all the shots but most importantly, does it in clutch moments. He’s a big-game player that can steal momentum with his shot-making ability and has Olympia looking like one of the current 4A favorites.
Evan Stinson Evan Stinson 6'7" | SF Cheney | 2024 State #223 Nation WA | Cheney
Stinson’s season ended early but he is a guy that is counted on to hit tough shots all game, every game. He’s got a bit of a natural lean back to his shot and when you combine that with his 6-foot-6 body, his release is almost impossible to block. He works a lot with the ball in his hands and from all over the court.
Emmett Fenz Emmett Fenz 6'6" | SF Ellensburg | 2023 State WA | Ellensburg
Fenz is a shooter who relies on his strength and precise footwork to create space and fend off defenders. He works a lot off of the dribble and can create space quickly with a hard hesitation dribble or step back. He’s a strong kid that has easy range a few steps past the 3-point line.
Mason Williams Mason Williams 6'4" | PG O'Dea | 2023 State WA | O’Dea
Williams is a patient shooter who can find his rhythm with ease. He has a smooth and quick release that lets him take advantage of small openings. He won’t shoot as much as the other guys on this list but he is just as capable and can take over a game with his shot-making.
