Luke has been playing fantastic for Gig Harbor. He has been extremely consistent for the team, scoring 20-30 points every night. He uses his body to get to the rim nicely but excels due to his deep shot, which keeps defenders on their toes. Against Central Kitsap on 12/14/2022, Browne scored 36 points and drained 9 three pointers. He scored more points than the entire Central Kitsap team (31 as a team).

It takes a lot of focus to hit contested shots and Browne has it. Being 6’6 helps, but he also tends to have good lift on his jumper and the supreme confidence to shoot with defenders barrelling down on him. Browne hit a bunch of clutch, contested shots last season and has the ability to spur comebacks with his tough shot making from distance.

Browne is going to be this team’s leading scorer most of the time. He is a knock down shooter with fantastic size and strength. He’ll be able to pull out opposing bigs and will be key in opening up driving lanes for other players. But he’s not just a perimeter guy. Browne is an excellent rebounder with good toughness that constantly wins second chance opportunities on the offensive boards and shows great touch in close. He can get hot real quick from downtown and should spur a bunch of quick scoring runs for this squad.

A pure shooter that has it figured out. I first saw him play vs Rainier Beach at the state tournament last year. I had heard that he was a shooter, and he didn’t disappoint. Although his team lost a close one, he showed glimpses of his deep shot talent, and made some big threes for Gig Harbor, helping them climb back into the game. His shot is smooth and comes off his hands with very little effort. When you see a kid who barely has to move his wrist from thirty feet, you know you have a shooter. This takes a lot of practice. He’s obviously put in the work. He had a few games with 30 or more points last season. His coach has been quoted as saying he’s the best shooter he’s ever had. He’s not just a shooter either, his game is well rounded, and with teammate Will Landram also back next season, the Tide should roll right back into the playoffs.
