About Zeke
Expert Analysis
William Lloyd III | Prep Hoops Scout
Zeke was a high-level shot creator that was constantly putting pressure on the defense. He played with nice pace and confidence, and used a polished euro step to navigate defenders and finish at the rim consistently. He also showed strong playmaking instincts, driving and kicking to open shooters often. His handle allowed him to generate separation, while his shooting kept defenders honest. Zeke delivered multiple tough finishes at the rim, and his consistent ability to create and convert made him one of the top offensive threats in the 3A Division playoffs.

Magruder’s season ended with a loss in the state title game to a good South River group, but it doesn’t blemish the overall season that Dabbondanza had as a key component in helping them get there. The 6-foot-2 point guard is equipped with a sturdy frame, twitch at the point of attack and a good feel as a playmaker in a way that translates seamlessly to the collegiate ranks. His per game averages of 12.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.8 steals give a solid indication of how involved he was on both ends for the Colonels during their run. Similar to the rest of these guys mentioned on this list, look for Dabbondanza to step into a senior leadership role and assert himself as one of the top players in a deep Montgomery County pool. He jumped 21 spots from No. 163 to No. 142 in the latest update.

The lead guard for the Colonels team, Dabbondanza showed the moxie and toughness you want in a point guard. He was one of the few on his team that could create in isolation situations and did so with a variety of change-of-pace dribbles and counters. He was at his best in transition or one-on-one’s where he used the burst to get to the rim and finish tough lay-ups before rotating defenders could react. The 6-foot-2 junior will be looked upon as the leader for next year’s group, but ended his 2025-26 campaign with 10 points and five rebounds.

Zeke is a big-time scorer at the guard position. Stands at 6’2 with good height at the 1 spot. Explosive with the ball in his hands and does a good job getting to his spots on the floor. Zeke can shoot the lights out and has range with his jumpshot. Does it all for his team as he can see the floor well as a natural point guard. Rebounds the ball well at his size too. High motor player that can be relied on when it’s time for big moments. A lot to learn about Zeke as he starts preparing for his sophomore season, off to a blazing hot start already.
