Typically when a team makes a state title appearance, the assumption is that their roster is comprised mostly of seniors, as that’s been the formula in the MPSSAA for years now. That isn’t the case for Magruder, as they return a bulk of their roster as they look to avenge their Class 3A title game loss and have an interesting group of 2028s and 2029s to do it. Stephen is a quick-twitch lead guard who can consistently gain advantages when the opposing guard is pressuring beyond half court. He got downhill with regularity to play in the paint before making nice reads as secondary defenders stepped up or used soft touch on his floater. On a few occasions when it seemed like the drive was dead, Stephen got skinny on step-throughs as he split defenders before converting scoop layups on either side of the cup.
