At 6'4"-6'5" with a burley frame, he played with a physicality to consistently expose mismatches. The southpaw forward was a quick decision-maker from the top of the key and if he didn't have a lane to drive or got cut off by his man in the process, he quickly swung to a teammate on the wing and followed with a ball screen. On several occasions, Soucy was able to force the switch and seal his man as he rolled to the rim for easy looks. On his post touches, Soucy had floor vision that expanded to the weakside as he made defenders cheating too deep in the paint pay with quick skip passes to set up shooters. Great command on the ball and understands his strengths as a southpaw lead guard who can create separations with twitch. Among the returners from the back-to-back MCST D1 State champs is Thornton, a 6'2"-6'3" guard who could develop into a balanced, connective piece with his ability to make shots when open and improved playmaking awareness on drives. He's coming off a summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2078812' first='VA' last='Playmakers'] on the UA Rise Circuit where he showed growth in his game from the point of attack. He finished contested layups with his weak hand, created separation for his jumper off the bounce with step backs as he covered ground and has a frame that allows him to guard three positions at the high school level. The 6-foot-5 forward can mesh well next to [player_tooltip player_id='2194776' first='Oliver' last='Gaeta'] in lineups with both of their ability to play inside/out. Mumcuoglu has soft touch around the rim, showed ability to attack his defender in straight lines as a trailer in transition and is a shooting threat from the corner when he has time to set his feet. That isn't the case for Magruder, as they return a bulk of their roster as they look to avenge their Class 3A title game loss and have an interesting group of 2028s and 2029s to do it. Stephen is a quick-twitch lead guard who can consistently gain advantages when the opposing guard is pressuring beyond half court. He got downhill with regularity to play in the paint before making nice reads as secondary defenders stepped up or used soft touch on his floater. The 6-foot-5 forward is skilled with his touches on the block where he can convert hooks over either shoulder. He has patience after he established an advantage and utilizes pump fakes to get opposing bigs off their feet as he sizes up cleaner angles on the backboard and brings a workmanlike approach to the defensive end. Gaeta doesn't back down from physicality as he can use his frame to wall and remain vertical to make shots difficult as he defends the post.
