He was a big piece for the Bishop Gorman Gaels this season, and his 6’9 height had a lot to do with him being a difference maker. He was physical on defense when he needed to be and protected the paint. He also had some success on offense, where he got to the rim on drives, posted up on the block, and buried 3’s. His size and skill set make him a tough matchup for opponents.. And he showed throughout the season that he can be a real difference maker.

He also patrolled the lane on the defensive end, swatting two shots and cleaning up the glass with a strong rebounding effort. Bright finished with 13 points and played with intensity throughout.

He is one of the tallest seniors in the state and will be looking to help the Gaels make another deep playoff run this season. On offense, he uses his footwork and length to get to the basket quicker than opponents anticipate. On defense, he clogs driving lanes and consistently secures rebounds. All in all, he has the build to play at the next level. And if he can produce consistently for Gorman, there’s sure to be at least a few coaches who take notice.

He is easily one of the taller players in 5A, which gives him a significant rebounding advantage against most teams. He can also utilize a variety of post moves and pivots to score on offense. While he’ll be asked to be the rim protector on defense.

He can also grab boards and score second chance points. On defense, he uses his wingspan and frame to take away space. And he also had a very nice block against an opponent at the end of a game last week. Where he met his opponent mid-air and swatted the ball away to close things out.

On offense, he was finding ways to score inside and shot right over and the top of defenders. He also connected on a few 3-pointers. On defense, he was protecting the paint and fighting for rebounds. In addition to his solid play, I liked the way he was hustling. During one of the games I saw the 6’9 big man dive to the floor for a loose ball. Which isn’t something you typically he from centers.

He is one of the few true “bigs” in Nevada and he often has a noticeable height advantage over opponents. In order to help the Gaels, he’ll need to rack up rebounds, extend possessions, and limit the other team’s interior scoring.
