Expert Analysis
Andrew Baxley | Prep Hoops Scout
Sidney slots in just outside the Top 75 in his debut. I have been very impressed with him whenever I’ve seen him with Ridge View over the past few months. He simply excels in his role, bringing an edge on the defensive end of the floor and as a balanced playmaker with the ball in his hands. It will be a battle to earn minutes off the bench for the Blazers this season, but I think Haney will not only earn them, but start to build a profile to play at the D2 or D3 level in college.

Sidney is a prospect who I have started to really enjoy watching. They call him “Mr. Consistent” because of his constant positive demeanor and production. Haney simply plays his role to perfection and does what it takes to earn minutes around a ton of talent. He is an excellent on-ball defender, stays engaged away from the ball, will screen to create mismatches, attacks open spaces, and can knock down an open shot. If he continues to play how he did in June through September and into Fall League play, the Blazers will have to give him time off the bench this year.
