Along with Peters, Nellumz helped make up an impressive frontcourt duo for Upward Columbia’s 16U group. He showed some intriguing offensive traits close to the rim as he worked from the post and in the dunker spot. Mason’s length impacted the game in more ways than just scoring, as he racked up 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block to go with the 10 points. I was familiar with Mason prior to Tuesday, but this was my first time seeing a sample size this large of him. He played the entirety of Fairfield Central’s back-to-back games, racking up 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals in game one, and 14 points and 6 rebounds in game two. Nellumz is an active body in transition who scored a couple of easy buckets simply on his willingness to run the floor. Although he has a thinner frame, Mason will look to battle in the post and can use his length to capitalize on smaller defenders with dunks and put-backs.
