Expert Analysis
Duvalier Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Morton has taken over the PG spot and has stepped up for the Grizzlies in some key moments. He’s a player who they rely on; he plays both on and off the ball, and he plays within the flow of the offense. He’s also been a marksman from deep, and that has opened up the floor when teams key in on their All-State big. Morton is tough, he pushes the pace and has had some scoring outbreaks on the year. In each game that he’s finished in double figures, T-Ridge has won, so they will need him to continue being aggressive and attacking as a 3-level scorer. He makes a rise in the rankings this go around.

Morton had an impressive showing against Valor, scoring 22 points and making the decisive play with a half court buzzer beater to secure the win. He consistently applied pressure offensively, attacking gaps and finishing plays down the stretch. His awareness stood out late, coming up with a timely steal and calmly setting his feet for a big three. Played with poise, toughness and a high motor throughout the game

Sean gave ThunderRidge valuable shooting and constant movement at times when his team needed it. He can get hot from deep, and there was a time that he went on a mini run by himself. He spaces the floor, runs the lanes, and chipped in with some tough and-1 finishes. He plays with bounce, confidence, and never stops moving. His name continued to surface all weekend as someone who kept impacting winning possessions. He popped for me and is a player to keep an eye on.

Morton shoots the ball at a high clip off the catch, efficient regardless of the opposing contest. Looking ready for a rotation role with ThunderRidge, he brings the quickness and strength to hold his own on both ends of the floor. A fearless guard who does not shy away from attacking the rim regardless of bigger opponents, his early signs of embracing that shooting gravity to promote driving lanes will help their halfcourt offense from the jump. He does all the little things, finding box outs early and getting into aggressive position for help rotations, he will be a consistent name in these ThunderRidge rotations.

Morton was a player that was able to get it going on the offensive end of the court and was able to score inside out throughout the game. On the defensive end he was crashing the boards and limiting second chance points, pushing the pace in transition and taking it coast to coast. He was able to get the ball inside and finish through contact at time, also showing some touch on the inside as well. He was also able to step outside and knock down the 3 ball as well.
