Jordan is another player who we got to see play this Summer and was very pleased with how he impacted the game. He’s a pass-first point guard who takes care of the ball, pushes and controls pace, and his team seems to operate around him. He’s probing the defense, and trying to get teammates free, but he also found ways to score when needed as well. That balance has him as an intriguing prospect to keep watching moving forward, and his showing this Summer has him as a player who may get a bit of varsity time.

I especially look for key characteristics in a good guard as I played guard, and Micklich looked every bit of a true point guard. He was able to control pace in games, got his team organized, didn’t pick up his dribble, and consistently put teammates in good spots. Opposing teams didn’t press for too long as they kept the ball moving, and he was hitting teammates with backdoor passes. His patient stood out in multiple games; he changed speeds and got inside of the paint, and while a lot of it was passes, he started to hit the mid-range pull-up as well. I like a guard who finds that balance and knows when to attack, and we saw that at times throughout the weekend as Jordan was an exciting player to watch. Curious to see if he’s able to duplicate that performance, but he’s certainly a new name to watch out for.
