Matthew Jasper Matthew Jasper 6'0" | PG/CG Central Catholic | 2028 State PA has been an important piece for the Central Catholic Vikings and his role will continue to grow this season. He has a knack for getting downhill and finding scoring opportunities around the basket. He converts on a lot of second chance points because he just out hustles everyone on the court. Jasper has a true ability to be able to score in traffic. He is willing to make the extra pass instead of forcing his own shot. Jasper is becoming more confident with his shot, and as that part of his game continues to improve, he is going to become very tough to defend.

Jasper has continued his productive summer, building on the momentum he has created with another strong showing over the weekend. He is relentless offensively, constantly pressuring defenses with his ability to touch the paint and create high-percentage scoring opportunities. Jasper finishes efficiently around the basket and consistently puts defenders on their heels with his downhill attacking style. Defensively, he has a nose for the basketball, routinely coming up with steals and turning defense into offense. His two-way aggression and competitive motor should earn him a significantly larger role for the Vikings this season, and he looks poised to capitalize on the opportunity.

Jasper turned in a productive performance and served as a scoring catalyst for his team throughout the day. He had a knack for finding points in the paint, consistently getting to his spots inside and never giving up on plays. His motor stood out, as he routinely stayed active around the basket and capitalized on opportunities through sheer effort and persistence. While he was effective attacking the interior, I would like to see him become more of a perimeter threat, as he occasionally gave off the impression of being a reluctant shooter. Expanding that aspect of his game would make him even tougher to defend. In addition to his scoring, Jasper moved the ball well and did a nice job creating scoring opportunities for his teammates, showing a willingness to make the extra pass when the defense collapsed.

He finds ways to turn defense to offense is in good spots on the floor to get steals. Jasper finds ways to wiggle his way into the paint and has a nice package of finishes when he is around the bucket. Jasper has shown that he can make a shot but think he could work on getting his release a tad faster.
