Jack Stoessel Jack Stoessel 5'11" | CG Central Catholic | 2027 State PA is about to take on the role of lead guard at Pittsburgh Central Catholic. The 6’1 Central Catholic point guard spent his junior year surrounded by an experienced senior group, yet still earned First Team All-Section recognition. He also led the Vikings in assists last season. This year, Stoessel will be put into more of a scoring role. He is crafty once he gets into the lane and finds ways to get his shot off in multiple ways. He is also comfortable stopping short and knocking down a floater or quick pull up jumper. Stoessel has one of the best shot fakes I’ve seen, and he uses it to get by the first defender. At that point, his entire game opens up.  He gives 100% on every play and understands the game. Jack Stoessel Jack Stoessel 5'11" | CG Central Catholic | 2027 State PA does everything on the court correctly. He is one of the most fundamentally sound players I’ve reviewed this summer and he is a reliable contributor to whatever team he is on, either during the high school season or AAU. After earning first-team All-Section recognition as a junior and putting together a strong AAU season with Team Wildcat, Stoessel has established himself as one of the more complete guards returning in WPIAL Class 6A. Stoessel is at his best when he uses his shooting threat to put defenders in difficult positions. He is a solid perimeter shooter, especially when his feet are set. His pump fake and baseline drive have become more effective as defenders play him closer. He is comfortable getting to a runner or using the glass. Defensively, Central Catholic regularly used him against talented perimeter scorers during his junior season, and he showed that he could compete possession after possession. Stoessel is a lead guard who is a threat to score or make a play whenever he has the ball in his hands. He has no issues getting into the paint on the attack and seeks out contact regularly. He has a nice handle and shows flashes of being shifty. Like the way he has no issues changing gears when playing in the half-court. Stoessel shows that he can operate using his in-between game when defenses give him separation. Like the way he can slide over the two guard and drill open shots as a catch and shooter in a multi-guard lineup.
