Rapidly moving up the rankings is Onishchenko, who was gone from a swing JV player last year at Central Catholic to entering the starting lineup at Nelson. The 6-foot-6 forward runs the floor well, has a nice-looking face-up jumper, the ability to create off the dribble, and has improved with his ability finish strong at the hoop.

Onischenko made a major impact off the bench, emerging as a crucial presence in the second half. The 6’7 big showed poise in key moments, knocking down important free throws late and finishing effectively around the rim. A strong rebounder with a growing all-around game, Onischenko continues to solidify himself as one of the top names in the 2028 class.

The sophomore forward was a constant threat around the rim and earned a ton of trips to the foul line with his constant work inside. Has the footwork to catch away from the hoop and beat the initial defender, and was constantly crashing in or setting up under the hoop to reel in boards on both ends of the floor. Also showed he can step out and knock down some jumpers away from the hoop. (RM)

Another young wing with some length, Onishchenko had a tough time finishing through contact from the more mature players but did show some fascinating athleticism on a couple of finishes maneuvering around defenders. He also flashed some potential from behind the arc, burying a few corner threes. It was also nice to see him battle on the glass against bigger guys and stay aggressive around the paint.
