may be stepping into an expanded role next season, especially on the offensive end. He is a force when he’s fed the rock in the paint, and he knows how to utilize his build and footwork to bully defenders. He also has the frame to absorb contact and will do damage from the free throw line. Dorrough’s size should benefit Coronado on defense as well, as he can clog up the paint and make attackers think twice about entering the lane. As a result, he’s capable of logging a good amount of double-doubles and helping the Cougars win close games.

had a strong season for the Coronado Cougars, nearly averaging a double-double (10.8 PPG and 8.3 RPG). He was notably dependable during conference play and the playoffs. On offense, Dorrough is a matchup problem and takes full advantage when he wins inside position. He can also tip in misses or extend possessions for his team. On defense, he can guard both forwards and centers thanks to his height, strength, and length. Those attributes are put to use when drivers get into the lane as well, and he had 22 blocks this year. Look for him to be suiting up with Paul George Elite on the AAU circuit, he’ll definitely be a prospect to check out.

found success inside for the Cougars last night. He opened the game with an offensive rebound and a quick putback for two, then used his height and vertical to record a block and throw down a dunk. Dorrough continued to make plays in the second half, adding six more points, including another dunk. He finished the night with 10 points.

I mentioned in my “Why Each Team Can Win” article that Dorrough could be an X-factor for the Cougars because of his ability to make plays in the paint, and he answered that call. He tipped in misses, crashed the offensive glass for second-chance opportunities, and threw down forceful dunks when the moment presented itself. Defensively, Dorrough added a block and altered several other shots, making his presence felt on both ends.

was a steady force for the Cougars on offense. He was patient and went up strong once there was enough of a window. Dorrough also continued to rebound the ball and recorded three blocks on the defensive end. Look for him to keep giving opposing teams problems in the paint.

When a kid is this self aware and this talented, the result is simply elite. Devaughn Dorrough is exactly that. In a win over Wilson (SC) Dorrough delivered one of the most complete games we’ve seen a kid have in this event this year. He finished with 23 Points, 9 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 2 Steals, and 2 Blocks. All of that was on 10-12 from the floor and 3-4 from the line, he did not attempt a three. Dorrough is one of the best at the rim finishers I’ve seen at this size/age. He’s an incredibly aware player at both ends of the floor, elite at placing himself off the ball after a screen right in that soft spot of the defense. He glides through the air to finish at the rim with either hand all while having a super reliable back to the basket game with multiple go to moves/counters. Dorrough helped lead Coronado to championship game berth with one of the best performances in all of the 2025 John Wall. A true front-court weapon with an old school game that is more than translatable to the modern game.

was able to produce 10 points in Coronado’s matchup against Corona Centennial. He operated in the paint on offense and maneuvered around defenders a couple of times for easy layups. He also made all six of his free throws and came down with five rebounds. All in all, it was a solid effort from him.

was able to get going a bit in Coronado’s matchup against Notre Dame. He utilized his frame, footwork, and athleticism to score a few buckets on the inside in the first half. He also splashed in a 3 and dropped 13 points in all. Beyond his scoring, he was rebounding and clogging up the paint on defense.
Additional Stats – 9 Rebounds, 3 Assists, 3 Blocks

Devvaughn Dorrough was getting open in the paint and used his footwork to give him good clean looks. He also uses his frame to get by defenders and they have a tough time contesting his shots due to his high release point. On defense, Dorrough clogged up potential driving lanes and he grabbed rebounds.

will likely make an impact on both ends of the court this season. On offense, he can over power opponents in the paint. And not many players can swat his shots. On defense, he holds his ground and his wingspan helps him on close outs. All in all, he has a ton of potential. As there aren’t many sophomores built like him out there.
