2028 Rankings Update: The Top 5

In this article, I feature the current top five players in the 2028 class.    [player_tooltip player_id='2374347' first='Aaron' last='McMorran II'] retains the #1 spot after the update. Since March his stock has gone way up, and he's added 4 more Division I offers (now up to 6). Including one from the hometown team, the UNLV Rebels. I watched him play with the Utah Prospects this past weekend at EYBL Session 4 and he was getting to his spots per usual. He had a few plays in particular where he wisely utilized his pivot foot to get his shot off in the paint. He was also dropping in 3's, and competed with intensity on the defensive end in the prospects matchup with Uplay. Considering the momentum he has, there may be another few colleges who extend offers before the summer is over.     [player_tooltip player_id='2484289' first='Devaughn' last='Dorrough'] is still positioned in the #2 slot. He's unfortunately had to miss some time this summer due to an injury, but I'm sure he'll be ready to make an impact once he's back out there. He brings his big frame to the table, and he's not going to be an easy forward to contain around the rim this upcoming season. He'll also be a guy who may collect around 10 boards or so, and occasionally those rebounds will lead to second chance points. On the other end of the court, the Cougars will look to him to clog up driving lanes and alter shots.     [player_tooltip player_id='2654821' first='Braylen' last='Williams'] jumps up to #3 in the latest 2028 rankings. He has been performing at a high level throughout the spring and summer with Bishop Gorman and Sin City Select. The 6'4 SF has been slashing to the hoop decisively on offense. Making tough finishes and throwing down dunks/oops on a regular basis. While also draining both jumpers and triples. As a defender, he utilizes his lateral quickness and size to put the clamps on his matchup.At the moment he has one Division I offer from CSUN.     [player_tooltip player_id='2468244' first='Jaden' last='Redding'] still has a hold on the #4 spot. He deserves a lot of credit for what he does on the defensive end. He can guard multiple positions, force turnovers, and high-point rebounds. After creating turnovers, he can push the pace and spark fast breaks. He also does a good job weaving through traffic to get to the rim, while remaining a threat from the perimeter. Look for him to keep turning heads.     [player_tooltip player_id='2633808' first='Fred' last='Jones Jr. “Deuce”'] has elevated his play over the last few months. He can attack at will and converts on difficult finishes regularly. I also like how he hunts perimeter shots, and he consistently creates opportunities for teammates with well-timed dump-off passes. On defense, Jones Jr. applies consistent ball pressure thanks to his motor, and he's capable of picking his opponent's pocket when he times it right, turning defense into offense in the blink of an eye. Plus he swats shots. All in all, there's a lot to like and his production is there.
