Fred Jones Jr., aka “Deuce,” played great in his new threads this winter. On offense, he was dynamic with his ability to slash to the cup, or let it go from the perimeter, where he had some success. I’d also say he looked more aggressive out there. On defense, Jones Jr. was a playmaker thanks to his quickness and vertical. He covered ground faster than opponents expected, which allowed him to intercept passes and swat shots. Considering his growth, it looks like he may have a big summer ahead of him.

The Palo Verde 2028 combo guard was making deceptive maneuvers to try and get to the cup throughout the game. He has some real shake and can slip by defenders if he catches them guessing. He also used his quickness to keep his man in front of him on defense, and collected 2 steals. While the Panthers didn’t come away with the win, it was encouraging to see him assert himself.

Fred Jones Jr. “Deuce” (pictured above) was very assertive in the game that I watched, especially on offense. He was hitting corner 3’s and also utilized his quick first step to burn opponents who overplayed him. In addition to his shot making, he was getting to the charity stripe and he was locked in on the defensive end. Coming up with steals and deflecting passes. Overall, it was a well rounded effort from the sophomore.

“Deuce” Jones was a solid playmaker for Bishop Gorman in the games that I watched. He uses his explosive first step to burn defenders. From there he either got to the rack or dumped the ball off to a forward for an easy bucket. Jones also used his speed on the defensive end to make deflections and gather steals.

Fred Jones Jr. “Deuce” can score in a variety of ways. He makes well timed off ball cuts, he can slash to the basket, or he can put in shots from the perimeter. As a defender, his strengths are his agility and his active hands. He also doesn’t give his man much room to operate, and occasionally causes turnovers.

Fred Jones Jr. aka “Deuce” is an agile combo guard that can drive to the basket and hit shots from the outside. Many defenders have a tough time reading his next move, and when he really accelerates they usually can’t keep him from getting to his spot. I also like how he plays defense. He has some lateral quickness that he uses to deflect balls and gather steals.

“Deuce” had a few timely shots against Utah Prep in the championship. I liked how he got to his spots efficiently. On defense, he did a solid job of locking his guy up. He knows when to use his speed and covers ground at a rapid rate. Expect him to be up there in the rankings when they come out.
