Cochran is an elite, multi-skilled guard who is committed to Santa Clara. After his 31 points and 13 rebounds effort on at the Donofrio Classic this week, it easy to see why the Broncos staff recruited Cochran so hard. He could become a program defining prospect. What jumped out about Cochran’s latest double-double was the way he relentlessly attacked the hoop. In transition and on half-court possessions, Cochran dropped his head and got to the rack on straight line drives. He finished several of those drives with rim rattling dunks. Cochran kept defenders from sagging off him by draining pull up jumpers and threes. He is an instinctive guard who rarely makes a poor decision.

Cochran (2nd Team All-State selection last season) is committed to Santa Clara, and it is apparent the Broncos staff landed one of the biggest steals in the Class of 2025. He is an elite floor general who does a fantastic job of balancing his three-level scoring with getting his teammates involved. Across his last three games, Cochran has registered 30 (4 threes) versus Phelps School; 29 points in an overtime win over AIA Prep and 24 points in win over Hill School. Cochran is a prolific half-court scorer, but he will surprise opponents with his open court speed and ability to explode to the rim for a dunk.

Cochran recently committed to Santa Clara and after watching him stuff the stat book for 30 points and 9 rebounds in a win over Shabach Christian, it is easy to see why the Broncos pursued him. During his latest standout performance, Cochran scored at all three levels and distributed to teammates. On several occasions, Cochran grabbed a defensive rebound, got downhill in a flash, and then went coast-to-coast for a bucket. After the 2023-24 season he was named as a 2nd Team All-State selection. If these standout efforts continue, he will be a 1st Team All-State member as a senior.

-Enjoyed a productive weekend by simply making the right play. Cochran isn’t overly athletic but has improved his burst and uses a pretty strong frame to bully his way to the rim. He’s more decisive in his reads on baseline drives and when navigating screens, passing well off the live dribble with either hand to create easy finishing opportunities for his teammates. A good not great athlete, he times his first and second jumps well for rebound around the basket. Cochran showed good feel for how to score on the putback with a midair putback, land on two and reverse lay, double clutch lay, turn around short jumper, etc. He plays great through contact and had some well-timed and well-executed backdoor cuts for easy deuces. The pivot footwork in the paint allowed him to score around defenders and the perimeter jumpshot opened up his driving lanes to the rim. Santa Clara got a steal.

Cochran is a Top 100 prospect nationally and already holds a handful of DI offers, so it is only a matter of time before he commits. He is a big guard who can score at all three levels. Additionally, Cochran is a fantastic distributor. His live dribble passing on the fast break is especially impressive. In 2023-24 Cochran averaged 14 points and 6 assists per game as he helped Perkiomen capture the PAISAA state title. After his junior season, Cochran was a 2nd Team All-State selection.
