Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
With his backcourt mate struggling, Tanner did all he could to keep Perkiomen in the game, particularly with a dynamic first-half scoring performance that sent the Panthers into the locker room down just a point. He showed his evolving athleticism early in the game with a poster dunk in transition, before going on to display the smooth, high-IQ play off the bounce that saw the Northeast PA native draw interest up to the high-major level in his recruitment. A high-level competitor, Tanner was a consistent factor defensively and in the floor game while leaving it all out on the floor as the only current Panther to have been part of each of the last two PAISAA title games. Despite the loss, he showed exactly why he looks like a steal heading down to FGCU as part of a continued PA pipeline to Fort Myers.

Tanner did an amazing job being the maestro on the ball and making plays for others. He has a precise vision of the floor and converted on tough passes. His presence was also felt on the glass and shagged 9 rebounds. Tanner was able to alter a few shots.

On Saturday, this FGCU commit registered 18 points in Perkiomen’s win over Friends Central. Tanner is an athletic “big guard” who displayed three level scoring abilities. Against FCS, he thrived in the open court where he capped off several fast breaks with crowd pleasing dunks. Plus, Tanner displayed impressive court vision as he delivered a handful of creative dimes. Over the first two games of the 2024-25 season, Tanner is averaging 14.5 points per contest. FGCU Head Coach Pat Chambers may have gotten a program defining recruit in Tanner.

18p 6r 4a 4b vs TSF, 7p 8a 3r 1s 1 charge drawn vs Highland
-Florida Gulf Coast commit showed different sides to his game in the two that I saw this weekend. Against TSF you saw the dynamic athleticism on dunks and blocks, saw the perimeter shooting, the help-side and on-ball shot-blocking, the pull-up midrange shots after ducking under closeouts. Against Highland I saw him in more of a play-maker roll, whipping passes with either hand (sometimes across his body) off a live dribble to shooters in the corners and wings. Against Highland he also took a key charge late in the game, picked a pocket before finishing with a 2-handed dunk at the other end, and showed the value of his vocal leadership at both ends.

Tanner is still working his way back from injury, but showed flashes of being a high level shooter and decision maker. He hit four threes on his way to 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists in their win over Hargrave.
