Pechickjian is one of few freshmen in the region with varsity reps under his belt already, having started last year as an eighth grader at Sanford School (DE), and the experience should pay immediate dividends as he looks to carve out an immediate role for a Bonner team with eyes on a PCL title. Known as a potent perimeter shooter, he’ll bring important size and floor-spacing to a deep Bonner backcourt. While his shooting is his calling card, Pechickjian has also impressed this fall with some punch off the bounce when run off the arc along with impressive timing and toughness as a defender while matched with bigger and older players. Pechickjian looks to present a nice blend of safety and upside as a prospect, which should make him a steady factor near the top of the conversation when it comes time for 2030 rankings.

A clear bright spot in Bonner’s loss to The Patrick School (NJ), Pechickjian shined off the bench and looked ready to make an immediate impact if called upon during the season for the PCL title contenders. Known as a perimeter sniper, he showed consistently pure mechanics off the catch with a keen instinct for finding open space along the arc. Pechickjian mixed it up when run off the line, getting into the midrange for his pullup and finishing a tough layup in traffic with his left hand. The Delaware native also impressed on the other end, showing toughness while guarding bigger players inside and active hands to challenge plays near the rim. With varsity experience last year as an eighth grader for Sanford School (DE), his overall poise on both ends of the floor should separate him among other freshmen across the area.

With the full season as a varsity starter under his belt, Pechickjian is a certified shooter off the catch. He can hit spot-up and hit movement threes at a high volume or get to the second level for touch shots when he’s run off the line. Pechickjian is underrated on defense as well, intercepting passes as a team defender.

We’re not used to highlighting 8th graders Pechickjian’s ability to fit in seamlessly at the varsity level and even stand out for stretches at a time make him more than deserving of mention. Slotting into the starting lineup, Pechickjian came out aggressive on his way to an 11-point effort, showing himself to be a highly dynamic shooting threat who only needs a sliver of space to get his shot off. He flashed impressive craft as a scorer off the dribble along with a clear toughness to his two-way approach in the floor game, while also looking to have big feet and moving like he could be on the verge of a meaningful growth spurt. It’s too early to speculate on Pechickjian’s college projection but we look forward to tracking his development in the coming years.
