The junior member of Bonner’s high-octane backcourt, Holden provided an efficient spark with 11 points, helping to seal the game with 9 of his points coming in the second half. A Delaware native, he’s a rock solid ballhandler who put on a dribbling display throughout the fourth quarter, weaving through Ryan defenders as Bonner looked to drain time off the clock and protect their lead. He also knocked down an early third-quarter 3 to help swing momentum firmly in the Friars’ favor. Holden’s size presents obvious limitations in the long run but his impact is unquestionable toward Bonner’s quest for a PCL title.

Holden recently transferred St. Elizabeth’s in Delaware to Bonner and this weekend will be his first runs with his new squad. Holden’s combination of athleticism, speed and instincts enable him to operate as a true two-way guard. His ability to pick an opponent’s pocket, grab a loose ball or pull in a rebound and then get out in transition for a hoop or an assist is impressive. In the half-court, Holden can drain triples of every variety. He is especially effective shooting out of pick-n-pop action. Additionally, Holden can create off the dribble for himself as well as teammates. Once Holden in the lane, he owns the solid frame and tenacity to convert on tough shots in traffic.

With his tight handle and high feel, Holden swerved through defenders to create shots for everyone else. His ability to bend the defense pushed St. E’s best scorers off-ball and made them even more dangerous. Holden also hit his fair share of threes when others kicked it out to him. An underrated defender, Holden weaponized his size to get underneath ball-handlers for steals and slip past bigger players for rebounds.

One of the top guard prospects in Delaware’s Class of 2028 is departing St. Elizabeth’s and transferring to PCL contender Bonner & Prendergast. This past season Holden was a freshman starter for a St. Elizabeth’s squad that advanced to semifinals of the DIAA state tournament. Holden is a dribble drive wizard with filthy change of pace moves. He uses those assets to get to the rim and then score with creative finishes. Holden can also attack the painted area and then execute a kick out pass or slip a dime to the dunker spots. His ability to push the rock for scores and assists in the open court is impressive too. Back in February Holden scored 19 points against Delaware Military Academy.
