Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
After getting his feet wet in the PCL last year as a transfer via St. Mark’s (DE), Scott was largely out of sight and out of mind during an injury-riddled spring and summer. He’s enjoyed a nice bounceback so far during his senior year, being named as a regular starter for the first time and thriving as the lone true frontcourt piece in an otherwise guard-heavy Bonner attack that has the Friars in the thick of the PCL race. A long and fluid southpaw, Scott is an inside-out forward with a good deal of versatility on either end of the floor. He’s started adding some good strength to his frame while also spacing the floor as a spotup shooting threat from the perimeter. A large swath of small-college programs would benefit from his services, as his play so far this winter has earned him a bump of more than 40 spots in the rankings.

At the Rare Footage Classic, Scott (formerly of St. Mark’s in DE) will be facing national level competition with his new team for the first time. So, it will be intriguing to watch how this athletic 3-level scorer reacts. Given his size and extensive scoring skills, we expect that Scott will shine. Scott is a significant transition threat whose length and hops enable him to play above the rim. On half-court possessions Scott frequently finds the creases in opposing defenses for easy scores in close. He can also operate on the perimeter as a spot up three-point shooter or a slashing wing. At the other end of the court, Scott is an effective shot blocker.

This past off-season Bonner picked up a few highly skilled transfers, but none more intriguing than this athletic wing. Scott (formerly of St. Mark’s in DE) is versatile scoring threat who can get buckets on the fast break, in the mid-range and from behind the 3-point line. He is an instinctive and athletic player who moves well without the ball. Thus, Scott frequently scores via back door cuts, dives to the rim and baseline lobs. He can also work the offensive glass for second chance points. Scott’s length, speed and finishing skills make him a serious open court threat. At the other end of the court, Scott is extremely switchable.
