Davis stirred the drink for the Hawks in the halfcourt, showcasing his competitive spirit. The freshman point guard collapsed the defense off the dribble and created open shots for Obiora and Reid. Davis came through in late-clock situations too, pulling up from three to end the first quarter and 4-of-6 free throws to put the game away. As a result, he notched 11 points, 4 assists and 2 steals.

The first Hawk off the bench, Davis played with a sense of urgency as he made plays for others and knocked down shots. As soon as he touched the paint off the dribble, he dumped the ball off to one of his bigs for an automatic two points. He also created for them in pick-and-roll. And when someone else swung the ball to him with an advantage, Davis stepped into a couple catch-and-shoot threes to chip in 10 points, 4 rebounds, and a team-high 6 assists.

Coming off the bench for the Hawks, Davis plays with an unmatched sense of urgency and competitive spirit. He defends the point of attack relentlessly, eager to strip the ball away and get out in transition. With the ball in his hands in the halfcourt, Davis creates and maintains advantages with his assertiveness as a driver who can maneuver around rim protectors in the air, make the drop off pass or throw the skip. He’s just as capable spacing the floor too.

Davis is a feisty guard who played DB for the Hawks football team this Fall. A real competitor, he’s always on attack mode, whether he’s jumping passes on defense or creating shots. And his jumper is good pulling up and spotting up. Even though he’s coming off football season, expect Davis to make an immediate impact, one way or another.
