Expert Analysis
Colby Giacubeno | Prep Hoops Scout
Camps can be a rough setting at times for big men who aren’t consistent rim-rockers, but Duverglas was impressively able to adapt the gameplay to fit his more deliberate skill-based style. The southpaw was routinely able to set up shop on the block where he showed impressive poise getting into his post moves and efficient touch as a finisher with either hand. He also impressed on the other end with nice timing and awareness as a shot-blocker despite a lack of top-end vertical explosiveness.
Duverglas’ skillset and IQ provide a great foundation at his size, and his potential was recognized with his selection to the Top 60 all-star game.

Duverglas has been having a big summer and will be looking to carry over that form into the winter. The 6’7 forward has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Duverglas can also put the ball on the floor and has a nice touch around the rim. He is a solid rebounder and holds his ground on the defensive end. Duverglas is a floor stretching forward prospect who should put his all-around game on display throughout the course of the season.

The younger Duverglas was effective from beyond the arc, knocking down several threes in each game, including some important ones down the stretch against Garden State Academy. He has good positional size and shooting touch while also displaying encouraging passing instincts. It will be interesting to watch how the versatile forward develops over the next several years.

Read EvaluationAri Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
With an argument as the most skilled frontcourt player in camp, Duverglas made a strong first impression while showcasing a modern inside-out skillset offensively. The hybrid post was effective playing all over the floor, picking and popping for open jumpers, putting it on the deck past slower forwards to finish near the rim, and operating as a passing hub from the elbows while hitting open cutters or shooters. He’s still a bit slow-twitch, as is the case with most young bigs, but Duverglas’ overall skill level and feel should give him a chance to emerge as one of the state’s top young frontcourt prospects in time.
