About Tyce
Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
Among the more coveted incoming prospects among local high schools, Harbin projects as an immediate factor for the two-time defending PCL champs and could even push for a starting spot by the time the season and/or postseason rolls around. A lengthy scoring guard, he brings a silky smooth offensive arsenal whether raining in jumpers from deep or bobbing and weaving toward the rim off the dribble. He’s still in the early stages of developing his body but is blossoming quickly both physically and athletically while incorporating a growing on-ball presence as well. Harbin may struggle a tad with varsity-level physicality at the outset but should be a valuable infusion of offensive punch with obvious long-term upside to tap into as he grows into his body.

Harbin is a talented wing who was at his best in space where his athleticism could shine, but proved he’s capable of scoring off a couple of dribbles in the mid-range. With the departure of several big pieces from last year’s team, the Judges seemingly have a need for another wing type to take a step forward next to their strong group of returnees. Harbin could be the perfect fit.

Tyce rounds out the group because this isn’t meant to be a ranking of the six biggest names in the backcourt.
It’s about different ways guards can control a game.
For Tyce, I’m watching the continued development of his perimeter game and decision-making. He’s a player who can become more impactful as those individual skills continue turning into consistent possession-to-possession production.
That’s the thing with evaluating 2030 players.
I’m not just asking:
“How good is he today?”
I’m asking:
“What does he look like after another year of development?”
Boog’s Take
Tyce is one of those names I’m going to keep tracking because the next stage of his development is going to tell us a lot about what his eventual role can be.

Harbin’s size and guard skill combination caught our attention during the weekend. At 6’4”, he has the physical profile to operate against a variety of perimeter matchups, while his skill set gives him opportunities to contribute without needing constant possession of the ball. The next progression is becoming more consistent in turning those tools into efficient production and winning possessions.

He embraced the challenge of defending multiple positions, effectively matching up against guards and wings while using his versatility to impact every possession. Offensively, he delivered in key moments by knocking down open perimeter shots and making timely winning plays when his team needed them most. His consistency, defensive versatility, and ability to produce on both ends solidified his status as one of the premier wing prospects at the tournament.

Another smooth and skilled guard, Harbin impressed with his blend of scoring and playmaking while showcasing a well-rounded overall skillset. He was decisive getting to his spots despite a youthful frame, making consistent reads whenever he beat his man. Harbin looked to be among the purest shooters in the event with a textbook stroke and easy range out beyond the arc. Among the younger prospects in the event and still undecided on his high school choice, he looks to have an appealing upside to tap into wherever he winds up enrolling this fall.
