About Khory
Expert Analysis
Chad Graham | Prep Hoops Scout
After a couple assists to get his team rolling against Takeover, Copeland turned up the scoring. He confidently got to his spots, whether he was driving straight to the cup, playing off of two feet, or pulling from the second level. His comfort and will to play inside the arc opened up windows for him to swing the ball along the perimeter or to kick out to a shooter. And while his teammates were knocking down triples, Copeland also hit some, two catch-and-shoots and one pull-up. 20p 5r 4a

There weren’t many contenders for this award as very few freshmen across the league were able to make a splash at the varsity level this year. That made it somewhat of an easy choice to recognize Copeland, who spent a large portion of the season as the starting point guard for a Father Judge team that’s shown it can play with anybody in the league. Copeland wasn’t asked to do a ton of scoring with a deep roster of older talent surrounding him, but more than held his own as a primary ballhandler with dynamic flashes of downhill driving and on-ball defense. He tracks as one of the premier freshman guards in the region and should emerge as a D1 prospect in due time.

Copeland is a smooth operating guard who is a natural scorer and finds the rim in a plethora of different ways. He has decent size at the guard position. Copeland is effective filling the lane in transition. He does a nice job breaking the game down and can get the best of defenders in iso situations. Should be a prospect who sees early time in the PCL as a freshman.
